Aluminium Thermally Broken Doors
The Bamford thermally broken door is based on the tried and tested Secure by Design modular door set.
The door is designed to provide both strength against physical attack and a thermal communal entrance solution.
It is fully compliant with Part Q, Part L, Part M and Part K.
Testing Information
The Door/Screen has been independently tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10077-1:2006 to meet/beat the Building Regulations – L2A – U-Value of 3.5 (for – High Use Entrance Doors).
The test was carried out on a representative sample of 1230 x2180mm with a thermally unbroken sill and achieved a U-Value of 2.1 (1.4 lower than required by the regulation L2A, for – High Use Entrance Doors).
Improved U-Values can/will be achieved by using a thermally broken sill and/or larger side screen.
